Craig Dobbin Legacy Scholar: an Evening of Experimental Music and Creative Collaboration at UCD
Join us for a special lecture recital of improvised experimental music at UCD on Monday, 2 December 2024, at 6pm, in The Trapdoor, Newman Building. This event features the renowned Quatuor Bozzini, visiting from Montréal, and Dr. Seán Clancy, Assistant Professor and Ad Astra Fellow in the UCD School of Music.
This unique collaboration is part of a residency made possible by the Craig Dobbin Legacy Scholarship awarded to Clemens Merkel, a member of Quatuor Bozzini. During their time at UCD, Clemens and the quartet have been working with Dr. Clancy on a project entitled “Sharing a Practice Research Methodology Through Collaborative Creative Praxis”.
The recital will showcase their innovative approaches to collaboration, inspired by the work of visual artist Sol LeWitt, and will culminate in a captivating performance for string quartet and electronics.
