Our thanks and best wishes to Eleanor McGrath for her years of service
The Board and Executive of ICUF wish to extend their deepest gratitude to Eleanor McGrath, as she steps down from the Board after many years of productive service. Eleanor has been an enthusiastic and active member of the ICUF Board of Trustees, and her experience and wise counsel has helped guide ICUF both at times of great challenge and opportunity. Most notably, in 2015 she organised the milestone fundraising event “Toronto with a Twist of Irish” in the Cathedral Church of St. James in Toronto. Her instigation of ICUF’s partnership with the Mohawk nation paved the way for the ground-breaking Landspeak.
Eleanor is a fourth generation Canadian inspired by her Irish Canadian roots, which she has explored through her art and volunteer work. She has worked as an Investment Advisor with RBC Dominion Securities, a Fund Raising Professional for fifteen years including time as Executive Director of the Ireland Fund of Canada, and published in newspapers and magazine journals in Canada, the US and Ireland including the Irish Independent and Cork Evening Echo.
Eleanor McGrath will now focus her energy on her passion, Springfield Farm in Apple Hill, Ontario, a culinary and organic farming retreat which she runs with her husband Finbarr McCarthy.
We wish Eleanor all the best for the future and thank her for all her years of service to ICUF.
