Toronto Fundraising: Eleanor McGrath makes presentation to ICUF

November 5, 2015

At an event hosted by Ambassador Kevin Vickers in the Canadian Embassy in Dublin, ICUF Trustee Eleanor McGrath presented a cheque for CDN $6,000 to ICUF for the funds raised for the James M. Flaherty Scholarship Program at an event which she organised in Toronto in April.

Toronto With a Twist of Irish‘ was a hugely successful event organised by Eleanor and her wonderful team of volunteers in the very salubrious surroundings of the St James Cathedral in downtown Toronto. With His Excellency, Ray Bassett, Ambassador of Ireland to Canada as Patron, the event brought together the finest of local and Irish musicians from Toronto, and welcomed many hundreds of guest from the Toronto area, with much of the local Irish community in attendance.

ICUF is very grateful for these funds, which will support a James M. Flaherty Scholar  conducting research in the area of music.
